I've recently given up my job & friends to live in a foreign land with my family. My boyfriend will not be able 2 join me until April 2007 and my friends will probabaly only be able to visit me on special occasions.
Is it normal at 24 to feel a distance to one's family?!

I've got a degree & had a lot of prospects in UK ...but felt like I missed my family for a long time since they went off to another country. I always wanted my parents 2 b active grandparents... My BF says he'll follow me..It's NZ so an amazin country to explore anyway- long way from UK so difficult decision! Anyway...very torn and starting to realise that I've grown apart from them and need 2 validate my own life as an adult without their influence!
Ah i see what you mean Piscean girl! Well i left home about 2 years ago used to live in Tamworth and moved to Kidderminster to be with a partner - now the distance is about an hour to an hour and half drive! Before i left id became quite distant with my mum stopped telling her stuff and she just started annoying me moaning that shes found things like ketchup etc under my bed - now this frustrated me even more she must have been LOOKING under my bed for something to have found it?so we had rows all the time. Anyways i started living away unofficially and she wanted to know if i was coming back as they only lived in a 2 bedroom house and needed an exchange as my brother was hitting the age he needed his own room (he was 2-3 at the time) so i said i wouldnt be and to give him my room.So she spent months trying to get me to come home and then finally realised i wasnt. Anyways the relationship ended and i carried on living there as friends.Got on so much better with my mum now i have left...to the extent that when i felt so lonely i just wanted to go home and missed them all so much especially my 4 year old brother! But then id visit them for a weekend and theyd annoy me hah! life hey? I think as we get older we lose the need to be constantly living with parents and sometimes in some cases people cant live with there parents anymore because they clash. i think its perfectly normal what you are feeling, its like you miss your family so you go to be with them...and then you miss friends, the bf etc - i think you need an equal balance of both :)
