Ratter could be right about sunday, but I am not sure. I have a fab 13 year old granddaughter who often sounds far more sensible than many adults I know. My point is this - I worked with Americans for many years while living in Germany. I've often heard Brits saying that the Germans and the Americans have so sense of humor. WRONG!!! They do, it just may not be the same as the British one. I love the American sense of humour and I love the German and the British and the Irish etc.. Openmindedness is a wonderful thing and makes the world a far more tollerant, happy place to live in! I can tell you that both the Americans and the Germans absolutely love the British sense of humor. And seeing that tv series such as Friends, Will & Grace etc. are so popular here in the IK, I guess most Brits appreciate and love the American sense of humor too.

it was an exception - but Americans 'got it' without difficulty all the same, which suggests they can cope perfectly well

Thankyou wonderwoman 1 no apology necessary.. I did not post this question with the intention of offending anyone or starting an argument, apologies to anyone who took this in a bad light. Sunday, if youare indeed 12 and a newbie, which i very much doubt, before insulting anyone, i suggest you check you grammar before you post or is English not your first language?. All i was looking for was a bit of light hearted banter. I do agree with all who said there is some good American humour, Frazier ... yes definitely.
