15 months ago I started my ideal job, I had all of the oppoprtunity I wanted I was given more and more work which I excelled in, I have developed web pages and reports and am still on the same wage as I started. It is getting pretty messy now because it has got to the point that I will not do the work if it is not being recognised. I have more responsibility than my line manager, and a recent job evaluation suggested that I ought to be paid at least another 7K per year.
I know money isn't everything but they are recruiting in other units for the job that I currently doing, with the pay reflected, and I am in a real dilemna whether to leave or not. I have applied anyway to see what will come of it but I think you should go for it.
The sad thing is I love my job, I have made some fantastic friends and it is the best office I have ever worked in. When I start a family I know I will be well looked after maternity wise, but the other part of me thinks that the extra money would be really handy in that circumstance also. Plus I would probably also get very good maternity benefits in the other post.
Check things out, and when it comes to the crunch (univeristy placement, job offer, etc) then review your options.
I think you shoudl go for it though ;-) x Good luck!
