Ladies ONLY! I have lost all the weight (14 lbs) I needed to lose, yet those love handles are still there and a little extra flab on the stomach. What kind of exercise can I do to get rid of that to avoid the tummy tuck expense. Surely there's got to be a way. I weight lift etc, and nothing seems to work. I do have the CORE ball to work with. Any suggestions?
I think you are stuck with it. A lot of people have this after having children, I don't know if this is the case. To my knowledge only a tummy tuck is the answer and not a decision to be taken lightly although I know someone who has had it done and the result was amazing.
Thank you Maggie... no, my children have furry feet so its not about that. Tucks are expensive and I know the results are awesome, just can't swing that. There's got to be an exercise I can do to diminish that... Anyway, thanks again. All the best.....
Do yoga or pilates - its absolutely right that weightlifting means larger muscles, so you want to do exercises that lengthen and tone rather than build. Swimming is EXCELLENT for this but if thats too much faff or you cant get to a pool easily (or you just dont want to go swim in other peoples sweat and filth) Yoga is your best bet. If you cant find a class get a book or better yet a DVD (just pop on amazon as it gives you unbiased reviews as well as a wide range) - its also great because you can fit it in any time of the day when you have a spare ten mins or hour if youre up to it :-)
no worries :-) Personally, just a final note - Id avoid Geri Yoga - its annoying as hell if you dont like halliwell cos she doesnt shut the hell up at all. The best one Ive seen is one done by Nicole Kidmans sister called "Antonia Kidman Yoga", but its not a beginners one. I mention it though as it has a section devoted to tummy excercise
Alternatively - Suzanne Deason does some good ones
Go google Tom Ventuo, he has an ebook which explains all about how to burn your body fat. It's not so much a diet as a way of burning fat and increasing mass. It's excellent and it's a really healthy regime too, you'll probably gain weight in muscle mass but notice a drop in inches as the fatty tissue goes.
Contour wraps are good for this. They don't help you lose weight, but they do tone the skin and take off inches. Here is a good site showing places that provide it in your area:
im in the same boat as sas lost the weight but not the flab. so i went to argos and for a mere 6.99 i bought a ab frame thing thats meant to tone you up. its the best 6.99 ive spent its sits in my bedroom and if you turn it on its side you can actually hang 4 tops on it and they dont crease, excellent if you got a wardrobe overload problem going on.

hi, one of my favourite exercises is studio resistance/body pump. It's very low impact and for me the best for toning the whole body. It's best when combined with an aerobic exercise ie spinning or even running on the treadmill but works well on it's own. with this exercise you tone the muscles rather than build as you use repetitions rather than heavy weights. unfortunately i think some people can suffer with excess skin when weight has been lost, i think it depends on the elasticity. good luck with what ever you try.
