As a paying customer (non NHS) you can choose to visit whichever dentist you are most happy with. However, there is a catch! Private dentists will charge a consultation fee to assess you. Therefore, you will need to do some homework and ask for recommendations before you visit. I've yet to hear of a dentist you will allow you a 10 minute 'chat' for free. By the time you've met a dentist (or several even) and decided you do/don't like them, you could well have paid numerous consultation fees.

We don't have any NHS Dentist places in Cumbria currently, but I think I pay about 15/month which gives me 2 checkups for free and discounts off the treatment. Kindof like Den-Plan, but slightly better prices, especially as I get the discounts immediately and don't have to claim.
