yes i have.....i didnt know much about it to b honest.....i was in intensive care.

it wasnt for many weeks after i was told.

i had e coli septicema btw...
Anser given previously : I have actually had the experience twice. Once during an operation and once when back on the ward in the presence of my daughter. Apparently, my 'time of death' was recorded on my medical file and a certificate filled out for pathology minutes after it happened the first time, so I was told by the medical staff that I had actually been dead. In fact my doctor and I ceremoniously burned the certificate about two weeks later. I think each person will probably experience things in his or her own way. It is not a thing that is easy to talk about. Going seemed lovely and easy, but it was not easy to fight my way back. I can say though, that my own experience helped my son, when he was dying of cancer. He died peacefully in my arms, as I had been able to take the fear of the dying process from his mind. This was my final gift to him.

robbo, hiya mate. what is your story ? did you come close to death or did you pass away and were revived ??

i fell into a local canal when i was a nipper. we lived close to a canal and for whatever reason, me and a friend went up there one day. i fell in and was under water for about 10 min. when i was dragged out i was dead.
Hi funky, good to see your name again,

I had one when I was 16,it was weird, I was floating up near the ceiling looking down at myself, I had double pnemonia and was off work for 3 months,

Carakeel.

there was a funny side to your own experience, how many people can claim to have burned their own "death cirtificate" ????

i cant pretend i know how you felt loosing a son, but its comforting to know you were there when he needed you most. :-)

in my own experiance, i remember nothing. i dont think i ever have. not even the time i fell in the water...
i was revived.....i really cant remember much at all..... i was rushed into hospital....and i can remember the flashing light of the ambluance.....

i remember having a mask on me......i felt really safe....and i remember a friend stroking my arm n telling me to keep fighting.

thats about all really....i was in intensive care 3 days i think, ....its something my parents, family n friends dont really talk about in front of me and i dont really like talking about it......tho writing about it, isnt affecting me.......

this happened july 2004........apparently, and i found this out xmas day just gone......they were fighting to save me, and the doctor said to my mum and girlfriend.......'of all the people in here....hes the sickest.'......i apparently, and as i say i really cant remember it, said....'well thats really cheered me up'....

..lol.....ive always had a dry sense of humour

lol just read my thread.....its affected me...
funkymoped, you're so right. When we burned the certificate, we laughed, then tears ran down my cheeks and we cried for a moment together, then ended up laughing about the whole thing again. Am facing two more major ops in the coming months, so a weird feeling. I am much healthier than I was back then, but the fear of going through it all again is most definitely there. Luckily this time I have the most loving partner to see me though it all.
Awwww - bless you all.......

My heart goes out to you Carakeel. kind thoughts to all of you xxx
Thanks angeldraws, that was sweet of you. Hope I can take my laptop into the hospital with me ... don't want to be without my ABers! :)
Carakeel, I feel for you,but lovely that you were there to make the journey easier for your son,I cannot imagine what you went through, Ray

Mine was so weird funky, I had been ill for about 3 weeks and my mum called the doctor,I can remember hearing him say,I don't think he will last the night, my parents were crying my sister was my nan was there and I was up on the ceiling looking down at myself, and I looked so ill,and it was as if there was two paths, I wasn't scared it was very peacefull, the next thing I rember is waking up in the morning and got slowly better from then on,crazy or what.
carakeel, so sorry to hear about your loss. wishing you well for your ops. XX

ray, i was told by my parents that "JESUS" had called me a week or so before i fell into the canal.. apparently i got out of bed one morning and told my mom that Jesus had stool at the foot of my bed and asked me to go with him...

even something so significant as that i still cant remember.
spooked me out for a while in my early teens not knowing anything about what had happened, but these days its just another piece of my own jigsaw.
funky that is weird, how can it be explained ? I don't understand it at all.

I hope you are going to be on here more often again, people miss you,you know, be good funky.
raysparx1 and unruliejulie, thanks so much. Big hug
