Some people get away with every 6 to 8 weeks but you may find you need to go more often to start with. I go every five weeks (4 in the summer) but at one time used to go every 3. There is a build up effect and the regrowth lessens the longer you have it done.
Don't know if this will help but the best stuff i've used is called Tendskin (you can get it online from hqhair.com). Its for shaving rash and ingrown hairs. You are meant to use it twice a day to clear up the rash and then after every time you shave. It can sting a bit, but it definately works! It might seem expensive but it lasts ages. As for sunbeds, while i would never encourage anyone to use them, i do and it definately improves my skin and makes me feel more confident. Or you could try fake tan. Another little tip re shaving, try using hair conditioner (just buy the cheap supermarket stuff for about 49p!) instead of shaving foam, the razor glides smoothly and it leaves your skin nice and soft and most supermarkets do own brand coconut conditioner which smells gorgeous!!!
My mum first shaves and then uses hair removing cream afterwards. She used to have those "black dots" but now her legs look smooth...I think I'm going to try this method next time as it's painfree (NEVER EVER want to try epilators or waxing- there's enough cra* to deal with in life let alone voluntary pain!)! :)
