My colleague has really bad morning sickness. She's approx 6wks pregnant and says she's got another 6 wks left of it, if compared to her last birth but she says there isn't anything she can do about it... surely there must be something she can take?

Please help as she keeps taking deep breaths like long heavy sighs and generally forgetting things and being miserable and i'd like to help.

Thanks! X

I cant help never been preggars, but as well on this section you might want to ask in parenting where I'm sure most have been through it :-)
My wife found eating arrowroot biscuits helpful and sitting up in bed and eating something dry before she got up helped. Also gentle sips of water rather than masses of liquids in one go, but for some girls it just doesn't work.Ginger is good too if she can stand it and if not then allegedly you can soak your feet in ginger water and it helps. I think there are 101 things that might help some people, but some people are just horribly sick and there's ntohing they can do about it.
Im not sure theres anything she can really do about it, though ginger is supposed to ease it so she could try a ginger biscuit or a piece of crystallised ginger when she gets up. My heart goes out to her. I really hope it goes away soon. When I was having my daughter i had all day sickness right up to the end of the 7th month but with my son i hardly got it at all, so you never can tell how long it will last :(

Thanks! I think I've heard about the ginger before... she doesn't actually throw up, she jsut feels ill all day, poor thing. X
Sounds mad, but rich tea biscuits work.

Hope she feels better soon.
i used to drink a glass of blackcurrant juice before i got out of bed as it tastes the same on the way back out.

Apparently she's tried ginger biscuits to no effect... maybe there isn't anything she can do. I'll tell her about the blackcurrant juice for when she does start being sick though!

Thanks all! x
My wife had this for exactly 12 weeks, she said it felt like a constant hangover, although she was never physically sick. I don't think there is anything that can 'cure' it but maybe the suggestions above might help to ease the symptoms.
