I suffer with lower back pain and have done all of my life.Painkillers help but I don't want to take them all of the time as they upset my stomach.Want to try reflexology but I am a bit sceptical. Incidentally,my back pain has been a whole lot worse since having my son 13 years ago,I had an epidural which did not work.

Having said that, I have used reflexology on my wife to treat Irritable Bowel Syndrome and it seemed to have some effect.

My Sister is a Reflexologist and I was sceptical about it. However when you read about it and then have it done its amazing. There are crystals that form in your foot and the area relates to a body part suffering.
Like I said, I was sceptical but when I had it done on me, my neck had a "good ache" the next day.
By the way, I'm a 6'2" Yorkshire man, not a yoghurt knitting sandal wearing type so if I was converted I think anyone can be.

A friend of mine was training to be a reflexologist and used me as her guinea pig. Each time is was just like a very nice gentle foot massage on my feet except in one spot where I definately felt discomfort when it was worked on. There was also a large deposit of hard skin at that point. She told me that it was to do with my ovaries (look away now fellas) and I always put it down to the heavy periods that I had.
About a year later I was rushed to hospital in terrible pain and a cyst the size of a watermelon was removed from my ovary.
Since then the hard skin has disappeared as well.
I have been converted from a mild sceptic to a believer.
