Writing as someone who has not been reading or posting on AB for too long, I would like to address a question to Ward-Minter...

I recall that some time ago you (rightfully) took deep offence at someone insulting the memory of your late wife. That being the case, I was surprised to read your comments about crete (referring to her late parents). Surely you can insult her in a different way if you feel she deserves it?

sorry crete, but the point Im trying to make is just that no-one knows who is and who isnt lying at any time, even if just a little fib.
I had cornflakes for brekkie! am i lying or not? Youd never know would you.
OK so now Im a liar because of that last sentence but doesnt mean Im not a decent person does it?
No-one can say for definate if a post by another is truth or lies in most cases.

i totally agree with you so i guess im saying i dont tell lies and just hope you believe me, but when it comes down to it y we dont know each other, but i think i am a fairly good judge of character even via a keyboard and i know some users who i would be very surprised if they were lying whereas there are some users who i believe are lying, not that important really as i say this is not real life, to me . ;) my first attempt at a smiley face oh how proud forget will be .

redcrx....you raised the point as to how can anyone call anyone a liar. It works on balance of probabilities. On balance I think what ward Minter says about himself is basically what he would like to be seen as. Does not mean it is the truth. He has the notion that a)fight for your country b) being married c) having a public school education are qualities that will make him look better in this anonymous land of the internet. However when i see how he writes, what he says etc and the fact that he is perhaps the only person on here who has readily displayed his personal credentials, on the balance of probabilities i reckon he is lying about these things. The standard of proof is of course not beyond reasonable doubt.

You have a problem with WM, thats obvious, but is it because you reckon hes lying or some other reason?
People would take all these types of claims on board if there was proof but we can only make our own decisions based on what we see on here.
I dont always agree with the way WM words things but I have no reason to think he lies about the army. then again I have no reason to think he tells the truth. :)
