hi has anyone here ever had cellulitis ? i have it in my arm from a cat scratch , at first i was diagnosed shingles now it turns out its this . i have been in such agony but the real worry is my arm is still swollen and hard , does this ever go? the redness and soreness is much less now i am on the right antibiotics .

if you have been prescribed and are taking the antibiotics it should improve, might also be a good idea to keep your arm elevated if possible.

but once the soft tissue is swollen and damaged can it ever go back to normal? its been 3 weeks now

You poor thing.I haven't had it but it sounds so painful.

ive had it ...in my leg, was a terrible thing, mine was from a scratch they thought......

i was put into isolation in hospital, this was going back 5 years ago......my shin is still redish tho, athough most of it went

THANKS for replies / mrrobbo was yours really swollen too? yes its a dreadfull thing , can you remember how long for the swelling to go down?

My hubby had it, he burnt his foot a fortnight ago and has spent the last week and a half in Whiston burns unit on intravenous antibiotcs and had to have most of the skin on his foot cut off , followed by a skin graft in order to save his foot! It can be a very serious infection and can affect the lymph glands. Try to keep the wound above your heart to minimise swelling, and KEEP TAKING THE ANTIBIOTICS!!

it took a good week....and i was having hospital treatment........

i cudnt bend my knee it was so swollen
