I dont think I could do the internet dating personally, I would be too nervous of meeting up with a complete fruitbat or a mad old uncle or something.
I was reading an article today though about this dude- areyoumywife.blogspot.com. Now HE really is hardcore hes been all over the world lookin for a bird..

I've met 3 men from the internet. Not so much dating, but "looking for friendship" sites. So I was curious to meet them and if one was cute then brilliant. None of them were like I imagined. But one of them is a great friend now and we go to gigs, festivals and everything. Another one got me a job but he has moved to Somerset now so we donlt keep in touch. Only good has come of it. Give it a go. I do find it a little embarrassing if people ask where we met though as there is a little stigma attached but in this day and age I think everyone is doing it so I hide my embarrassment and announce it matter of factly.
oohh, feel a bit rough after last night and Miss Admarlow wasn't pleased I turned off my phone. I would DEFINATLY use one, I think it would be a laugh, as long as you don't expect too much, I think it would be a good way to meet people you don't usually come into contact with .
BTW
Does anyone have a good site for one as Miss A is pretty mad!?!?

I have flirted briefly with internet dating and the main thing I noticed was that they all seemed to me to be too fussy about physical attributes and lifestyle choices. You had to fit a blue print, usually before they will even meet you. I guess that's the reason they are on the net, ie they give personalities no chance. There are also a lot of total weirdo's on there, I've been fortunate enough though to avoid the Bunny boilers up to now! But one date wanted my exact height and I was clearly too short! doh!
Ive been on dating sites and also friendship sites and have met some great people. Some i keep in touch with, some i dont.
I met my boyfriend on faceparty and we are very happy and have settled down and started a family so im very pleased that i chose to give such sites a go now.
I also got 3 of my friends to join. One couple have a child, one couple split after 18 months and the thrid get married next month.

I do the internet dating thing. I started it when I moved to a new area and didn't know anyone so I wasn't getting out and about :-( I do get out more nowadays, but I still like to do the internet dating thing. I chat online to people for a bit before I meet them, so I get a good idea of their personality. I've been doing this for a year now, and while I haven't met Mr. Right yet, I'm having some interesting nights out while I wait for him to come along!
Nat, i was chatting to my now boyfriend for 6 months before we met in person. We finally decided to meet up as friends (he lived 60 miles from me) but said that neither of us wanted a long distance relationship due to work commitments.
within 6 weeks we were discussing a future, we mad about each other and were gonna consider moving in together and starting a family after xmas (we met mid July)
October arrived and my period didnt and although it was only 3 months into our relationship we were both overjoyed.

I'd give it a go. I would rather meet someone online than in a club where they are drunk, only fancy you cause you're there and are just trying to get in your knickers.
I have met people from a messageboard I use cause we all go to the same gigs, and they have all turned out to look like their pictures and been just as I had imagined them, but then none of us were looking for the love thing. It was just as friends.
