To people reading who are atheists, do you believe you will be accountable for your actions in this life, and if not what do you believe is the difference between atheism and hedonism?

In hedonism, just because someone os seeking pleasure (pleasure is the highest good etc) don't mean they are alwys being naughty!
Strange question, think I need a G&T to provide some creative response. Oh, or is that hedonistic....?

whats the difference between atheism and hedonism?
Atheism is a lack of belief in a god--hedonism is a philosophy of pleasure seeking. They are NOT the same thing. For instance ,buddhists dont have a belief in god but they are not hedonists.I'm an atheist but I am not overtly a pleasure seeker in the sense of an hedonist.(in fact I live a rather quiet life).Ive never really understood why people think that you have to have a belief in invisible sky fairies to live a moral life.Like octavius states, we have laws in this life to abide by.I find something rather disturbing about people who need religion to tell them whats right or wrong.

Im an atheist and agree that obviously everyone is accountable by law. If you have goods morals and can look at yourself in the mirror and say you are happy with the way you have behaved then i think thats the important thing. I think its much nicer to live life in a good and moral way because thats what you believe is right rather than doing what you think you need to to get some kind of reward when you die :) x
I'm in total agreement with beanmistriss. Unforunately there seem to be so many people without a conscience and I find most claim to be religious. I think the fact that they think repenting sins gives them a clear slate and makes them loose their conscience. I am agnostic but truly feel if you have a conscience then thats what really counts.
