any body have a clue whats wrong with me ?
I have 4 children 2 of whom were within 13 months of each other I am in my late 30's
I suffer with really bad pain in my lower back ( you know in your dimples in your lower back well thats where it started ) it has since got higher now .
My husband has found me with my knees up ( laid on my back ) a number of times
I dont sleep well now because I have to keep stretching my back all night .and he can hear me moaning when I turn over .
My doctor is not very sympathetic and told me to buy ibrufen tablets and I dont like going to him as it is, but just feel he is fobbing me off when it is obvious to me that I have arthritis what do you think?
thanx

I wouldn't say you have arthritis. You do not say how old the children are! I know you probably do not want to hear it but time is the best healer

well my children are 17 14 13 and 10 but it started 4 years ago !!!
I am stiff in the morning and some times it can last all day ( well some times it goes when night time is here although it is still there ) you probably wont know what I mean though unless you have it
I do have like the only way I can describe it is big knots in the dimples where I said and I swear if I use deep heat on my back now I can not feel it ( unless I go in the bath ) through over use I suppose?
go see a chiropractor or osteopath; they specialise in back problems and know more about it than the average GP (more than your GP, anyway). It's probably not arthritis at your age, though it could be; you might just have twisted a vertebra or something.

They're not on the NHS, and they all do different things so it's not possible to recommend any one practitioner; but if one isn't helping you, try another.

I have just read something that is litrally me !
which cheers me up but dosnt ! because I have had it for that long now it sometimes depresses me ( not that I am mardy ) but it seems my dr. dosn't want to give owt away ( buy your own sort of guy )I am not sure now if it is classes as arthritus it is http://www.back.com/articles-sacroiliac_dysfun ction.html yipee !!!!!! I finally know im not going mad !!!! it is through having children close together but also I was doing some garedning for my friend who's husband filled a wheelie bin up with soil and I tried to move it it just fell on me I really dont know how I managed to lift it but it fell on my leg and I didn't realise I had hurt myself ( apart rfom the massive bruise I ahd on my leg ) but the next couple of days my hand went numb all apart from my little finger ( this is because the little finger is on a seperate guider ) anyway I had hurt my carpol tunnel that you can see on your wrist and I had danaged mine I had to have ir in a sling for 6 weeks ( my arm ) but thinking about it it was about the same time my back started when I first got it I remember my dad coming to see me and I was crying because I couldn't evem turn around not even to the side ( I would have gone to the docs but it was the weekend so I had to wait till monday anyway and when monday came it was a bit more bearable so thats how it's gone I did go to the docs once but unfortunatly for me I dont like gong because I always feel i am getting fobbed off ( buy your own ) so I never go !!! see so thats it but I am gonna have to go soon as I have most of my hubbys painkillers for his arthritis !!! not a good combo is it ??

just if your not sure it is sacroiliac joint by the way see its me !!!!!
When having both my children I was diagnosed with SPD. I don't know if you have this but perhaps this link may help you! http://www.pelvicpartnership.org.uk/index2.htm l if you just google SPD it will bring tons of info up, and it's worth going back to your doctor and pestering him. That's what I had to do because mine wasn't at all helpful.

I hope that you'll be feeling better soon!
I'm having sacroiliac treatent from an osteopath this week. Not as bad as yours; but he knows what to do. GPs can be a total waste of time with backs - all they know is nurofen. Good luck; I'm sure your pain can be treated
My job resulted in me suffering badly with my back, a few years ago very badly - I could walk, but I was in pain all the time.

As with previous comments, doctors are useless - all I got from mine was time off and anti inflammatories (spelt right?) and it was only when I visited a chiropractor that I actually got it sorted. It cost me but it was worth it.

thanks for all your comments
funny enough this is one of my better days today !
and I must say I dont have many of them !!
coincidence or what
I do think you would benefit from seeing an osteopath. If you do not like your GP and are not getting the kind of treatment and support from him/her you need , please change to another GP immediately. You have the right to do this! I personally cannot recommend a Chiropractor as mine made a serious mistake in treatment landing me in hospital with some long term and some permanent damage to the muscles and nerves in my lower back as well as my sciatic nerve. I was literally paralysed for 18 weeks. My Chiropractor lost her licence because of this but the courts could not give me compensation as the hospital had not taken an MRI scan, just an X-ray and these cannot show nerve damage. So you really need to be very careful when it comes to your back. Change GPs and ask to to be given physio. If the physiotherapist thinks you need to see the orthopaedic consultant, he/she will get you an appointment. Good luck, hope you feel a lot better soon!
