I ended up worse off than my ex husband. Mr Pippa was taken to the cleaners...and I have lived through both situations!
Fallacy.

I have a male friend who was taken to the cleaners by his ex wife to the extent he lived on a floor at a friends house for a year because she literally had every penny he earned. She married again and when my friend got a new job with more pay she took him to court again to get her 'allowance' increased she and her husband then went on holiday with the proceeds. He eventually gave up working so he hadn't got any money for her to take. His son now 18 and my frined has started working again (not that that didn't stop her tyring to get money out of him)
By the same token I had a female friend whose husband left her for someone else. She was then diagnosed with cancer and whilst at home recovering from chemotherapy he announced new girlfriend was pregnant and they were moving in to HER home. She was too ill to stop it happening, he then nagged at her until she signed the paper work to sell her share of her home to them at which point they told her to leave. She went from a lovely 6 bedroomed house to a two bed flat and no income.

sadly all parties are worse off financially following a divorce and that includes the children.

Thanks for all your answers...guess I`ll just have sit tight lol
My friend who is divorcing has a good job, but is considering going on the dole. He would rather do this than pass everything he works for to his wife and new boyfriend. He would be better off financially if he finishes work. I feel for him.
Anything you wish to divulge, Elvis? x
Its just a fallacy, I suspect because the guy is the main breadwinner, its often the case...

I earnt more than he did and wanted to keep the house, which I paid more into, yet he was entitled to HALF.

I got utterly screwed and have a monster mortgagte for the next 30 years to prove it.

Solicitors are bottom feeders and dont deserve their 150 an hour - Boy am I ever in the wrong job!!!
