Diannette and weight gain
4 Answers
I have tried several contraceptive pills but wondered if anyone had tried Diannette. Previous pills have made me put on weight and wondered if Diannette had caused this side effect in anyone else?

It is, in fact, not ordinarily available free from the NHS as a contraceptive and must be paid for, as it is not - primarily - presecribed for contraception.
It is also suspected of causing depression and mood swings to a greated extent than ordinary combi-pills due to its higher dosages.

i have just stoped taking dianette. i took it for 4 years previously and actuelly lost wieght when i was on it! that was not because of the pill tho, it was due to a healthy eating plan! it made me feel very low when i started taking it but the symtoms settled after a few months. would't recommend taking this pill long term, and only take it to treat another symtom (acne, eccesive hair growth or pso) as well as for use as a contraceptive, as it is strong and the are lower risk pills available if the only use is as a contraceptive. i got it prescribed free to me as it doubled up as a contraceptive. hope i've helped!
