Definitely more charity and voluntary work as used to do loads in the past, volunteering including in the local hospice, a centre for the disabled, a contact centre, assisting a blind girl in a school, helping run a youth camp in romania and many more.
Used to do loads of charity work as well and really miss doing that kind of thing but find it much harder with work now.
Would love to get back into it as have had some experiences and it definitely betters you :)
How could I better myself when I am already a perfect human being?
I used to spend 3 hours per evening twice a week as a budget adviser for unfortunate souls who had gotten themselves in financial strive. Using personal influence to persuade traders for leniency, I found time and time again that my 'clients' had let me (and themselves) down. It seems that you just can't help some people. Put me right off volunteerwork.
Now I spend most of my spare time getting abused on AB and help my now extended family and friends with DIY and gardening where they can't do it themselves.
Yeah, I understand where you're coming from, Wildwood. I found that the only way for me to be a bit altruistic without the disappointment of human failing was to work with animals. Much more satisfying!
