I'm not sure about that, but I have a friend who ate alot of bananas, maybe 3 or 4 a day sometimes. He is in his mid 50's and I think he had been eating alot of bananas for a while. Anyway, he was instructed by his doctor to stop eating so many of them because of the potassium levels in his blood. So I don't know about dying after eating 8 of them, but long term it can have an effect.
I've not seen banana man on the t.v. for a while, maybe thats what happened to him.
Too much postassium in your body can cause the heart to go all wonky and even cause death in certain circumstances. Bannanas have a very high potassium content. People on renal dialysis know all about potassium and its dangers and have to limit their intake accordingly as the dialysers arent very good at removing it from the blood.
i'm just coming to the end of my ninth banana, feel fine - moderately nauseous, but nothing too bad...hang on..er..eeeccchh...hel...p....m...eeeeee...click....brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
...and apple pips are full of cyanide. Makes you wonder what the government is trying to do to us when they advise us that we should be eating five pieces of fruit a day
The opposite side of the argument is that it can be bad for your health if your potassium levels are too . A friend of mine suffered bad chest pains and was told by the doctor his potassium levels were too low and had too eat some bananas to bring the levels up.
