dropping a door in your face
11 Answers
ohhhhh some men - i really like this new guy and have been trying to chat to him and smile and all that. He is a bit of a 'loner' type and it's been hard work, but i kind of like him for being a bit different. However, today as i was behind him he didn't hold the door for me, he just dropped it in my face and there is no way he missed seeing me. Now i think shall i just not bother making the effort to even try and be friends with him or shall i just continue like I was before and keep up the smiles etc. What is it with some guys these days - it's like they just don't have any respect.

I'd be really miffed too if I was you but maybe he didnt do it on purpose-it was your presence that made him nervous and he let go!! He was prolly too embarrassed to say anything. Sorry woulda been good though! Keep up being nice but I wouldnt waste too much effort on him!!
Maybe he's just one of the people that actually enjoy their own company and aren't too bothered about being a loner.
But whether that be the case or not, there's no need to be rude and not hold a door open...
On the other hand he could fancy the pants off you but would probably never be able to say it or show it. Love/Hate thing...?!

Thanks teag1rl - no i didnt say anything, just walked straight to the loos and blanked him (i have been over friendly before). The thing is my best friend is leaving here and i am feeling a bit down as when he has gone i havent really got many 'proper' friends left. So I thought hey a new guy maybe he could be someone to go get a coffee with etc. I am a bit on the shy side and hence why i was drawn to him - now i don't know if i can be bothered. Just feel like every time I try and make an effort with people they kick me in the teeth.
Thanks samuel23 - you sound nice. Thats the thing every guy i meet is like that. My dad says you can tell a nice bloke when he will walk the earth to make sure you get home ok and hold a door open for you etc... i dont think i have ever found a guy like that before. Just i dont know it has shocked me as he saw me get up (i sit by the door) and saw me behind him and then drops it in my face - i feel really stupid for making such an effort now.
Nat_84 thanks ha ha yeah i guess i should have been like everyone else here and taken the hint and just left him to his own devices.
lol fancy the pants of me - nah i doubt it. Sorry just having a moan lol

Thanks everyone :-) saw him today and he smiled - i just blanked him. God very hard to know if he genuinely didnt do it on purpose or he is a jerk. I will just leave him to his own devices and just say hi as and when, such fun.
Luckyeight - do these nice guys exist? and if so where are they ha ha. All a girl wants is a bit of respect - i dont ask for too much lol :-)
