How long after death is the funeral likely to take place in England?, I know it's longer than the couple of days over here in Ireland.

it depends on whether you are being burried or cremated
burried = about 2-5 days
cremated = about 7-14 days
When my grandfather was cremated it was a week after his death.
usually around a week, i think it also depends on the cause of death aswell
maybe a week or more depending on how the person died! i think
everyone I know has been buried or cremated the friday after, be that buried or cremated. So that has been between 3-5 days. With the exception of a friends daughter who died in France and a friend who killed himself, and needed identifying.
My grandmother died a year ago and was cremated exactly 2 weeks after.

I asked this question then!
i forgot to add, if there is a post mortem examination, it may take longer. I think the difference in the timing is because the vast majority of people in england get cremated rather than burried, so the slots get filled up quickly!
