I am way too young :-) But can I just ask as I am intrigued is prolly a word used in certain parts of country, I take it it means probably
Neither.....they both looked ridiculous!
Whats a mod?
My boyfriend in the early 80's was really into The Jam, so obviously I pretended to be as well (what? I was trying to impress him ok? LOL) so I dutifully bought a green fishtail coat......

I never really got into it though, I was a secret Duranny!!!
I was into the Jam ..had the clothes ..the hairstyle the lot ..lol ..god I musta scared wee kids.lol
so I was a mod.

wnjx21 - Miew. here's your rattle back.
Anyway if I was being pedantic it's MY shorthand not a grammatical contraction.:-(
I was a mod, down to Brighton every bank holiday in the 1960s (not fighting though) and going to all the West End clubs at the weekend - Marquee, Whisky, Scene, Carnaby Street, etc. Then what happened? Ten years later I married a Rocker ! Good thing I like rock n roll but James Brown will always be the King of Soul.
We were both Mods - way back in the 60's!

What great days they were too!

Hi waaii,
I was a mod probably met smurfchops cos I went to the Marquee virtually every Tuesday and Saturday, had a Vespa followed the Who,small faces, yardbirds, went To Margate,Brighton & Hastings every chance, also went to Tiles Club & the Rikky tik, loved every minute of it, met my now wife who was a commited Rocker, but she saw sense in the end
I wish I was a mod, Ive got the suits for it.....
I'm just a bit too young to have ben either, but i know that real 60's Mods would have crossed over the stree to avoid the endless 79 / 80's 'Mods' in the wake of the 'Quadrophenia' movie. Identikit parkas and two-tone clothes a real Mod would have bruned on sight.

I worked in a disco as a DJ at that time, and I remember some snotty kid with a target tee-shirt and pork pie hat leaning across and asking me if I could "... play any Mod ..." but he had to shout up because the sound of Booker T And The MGs' 'Green Onions' was on at full volume!!

Kids!!! Pah!!!!
oh andy used to love the stuff Booker t did, good man,you had taste.
well i dont know if you'll understand wot i'm going on about, but as a teenager in the early seventies i was a smoothie, i had the feather cut and the cromblie, aww what bliss,

those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end.
I'd like to think I have the traits of both. I'm known as a mocker.

devil-woman-
We'd sing and dance for ever and a day, we'd live the life we choose, we'd fight and never loose, those were the days Oh Yes those were the days........

Well it wasn't all good to be fair!
I was a rocker with my own Tigercub bike and all the leather gear, and then I changed to being a mod as I fancied wearing skirts and heels and looking feminie, but I steered clear of Brighton!!
I can't believe that Andy!!!!

Only yesterday, I sent someone the following 'YouTube' video of Green Onions by Booker T & the MG's.

It was one of our favourite records & my husband still has an orinigal 45rpm of it in amongst our collection!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLFwbtlqgC8

The dancing on it is so corny - but was fun at the time!
