Mirtazapine. Has anyone else taken this ?
6 Answers
Been prescribed this by my GP instead of Fluoxetine, which didn't help my depression too much.
Has anyone else taken or is taking this ?
I am not the most compliant of patients and feel really weak relying on tablets to get me through.
Are these any good ? I know people react differently -and to different medications - but I would just like to know if these have proved helpful to anyone .
Thanks in anticipation.

I know how hard it is babe, believe me, you will get through it however it may not seem like it.
As regards compliance, been there too, and hard as it is sometimes there are things that are just too much for us to cope with on our own. Think of it in a chemical way if you like, you need to get your chemical balance back.
I can take a while to get settled on something and to find what's right for you but it can be so worth it in the end.
As the Borg say, resistance is futile ;) Sorry, couldn't resist that.
As our dear China would say (sorry hon but I'm sure you'll understand), chin up tiddler xxx

I have tried about three different types of anti-depressents (including fluoxetine, not sure about mirtazapine) and none of which have done anything. If you feel like you have enough strength to deal with your feelings mentally then dont bother with the pills but if you feel you need extra help you may as well try them and it doesn't make you weak. I tried pills and counselling and neither helped. i would like to try stronger pills to see if they'd help but i get embarrassed going to see my doctor because he always seems to look so sorry for me! you know what is right for you. hope it works out, let us knowxxx
