I've upset an ABer

I wrote a tongue-in-cheek comment that was taken seriously. I unintentionally upset a member and this has escallated to the point where I have been christened "evil pixie". I have written an apology to the offended party and await a reply. What else does one do in a situation like this?

you apologised for your unintentional remark that was taken offence against. If the person won't accept the apology,then so be it. No point mithering yourself.

I only realised I had caused offence this evening. The post was about a week old. I managed to offend so badly that the member actually stop visiting for a few days. How I can make up for something like that?

laugh at em and move on.........or provoke them into a pointless argument that they will have to use big words and try and belittle you so you can get the sympathy off the other users???

You are correct ummmm. It seems to have spiralled out of control. If I had realised I had caused such an uproar I would have acted sooner but truth be told I don't check that catagory very often and only stumbled across it this evening cos I'm bored and checking all the subs.

A very nice apology pixie. As you say you can`t do anymore. I am a bit like you, a joke talking to someone doesn`t come over the same on here.It will soon be forgotten and everyone will move on.

Don't worry too much......They will get over it....I don't know what you said but I read her post to you. Everything can be taken the wrong way until the invent emotion sensitive keyboards!

Rugeleyboy, for your information I don't "dumb down" my vocabulary for anyone. I wont, however, use unnecessarily elaborate lexicons to belittle others as you so deftly put it.

Pixie, I saw your original post and never for one second did I think of it as being other than a light hearted remark. I was really surprised at the recipients response and the backlash against you.
It's my turn tonight - I've been accused of being unfair to someone on the 'lazy garlic' thread.By the way, when I refer to you as the 'evil' pixie I'm just imagining what they'll be comparing me to, I don't think you're at all evil! However as naz says, I kinda like evil pixie.. gives you an edge.
