I'm having really bad trouble at the mo with this, sometimes still being wide awake at 3am!!Annoying to say the least! Has anyone got any fool proof suggestions on what might help?

my mom doesn't sleep to well and she heard that eating raw cabbage befor bed worked!!strangley enough it did for a few weeks,but then she got sick of cabbage!
Hmmm, i know having a joint before you go to bed will make you sleep well. If your not into that stuff, then maybe go to the docs. My guess is that it is psychological. Is there something troubling you?
Me too but in my case its cos I share a small bed with another person who constantly moans for hours about life the universe and everything!
A long long walk on the sea front will guarantee sleep
you dont say how old you are or whether you have anything stressful going on at the moment. I have heard that putting a pad and pen by your bed and writing down whats bothering you sometimes help. Milky drink before bed warm bath an hour before you want to sleep as well. Lavender sometimes helps but personally it gives me a headache. not eating too late in the evening and having no caffeine after a certain time.
i suffer with this alot, i sometimes go right the way through without sleep,...

things that help me are, shower, then straight to bed or sex or tea with biscuits.

but i do reckon the brisk walk may work, if i wasnt so idle i would do that myself!!
Reading for 1/2hr or so always makes me a bit sleepy.

I always recommend this but valerian from health food shops is good for getting you off to sleep

Melatonin is even better, it promotes natural sleep but depending on where you are you may not be able to buy it in chemists
You can find both melatonin and valerian on ebay.
I count very fast so that nothing else can enter my mind!!!!
OR
I have trained myself to get up rather than tossing and turning. Then I do something useful such as ironing or answering letters or emails - it seems a shame to waste the time. I have found that I don't get tired the next day and just feel that my body doesnt need the sleep at that particular time.
