I think they are old hat now and New Yorkers and celebs like Gwen Stefani are more interested in the shoes designed by ex-orthopaedic surgeon, Taryn Rose. Her shoes are now available at Harrods for about 200. I quote from todays Evening Standard;
'Her shoes leave room for toes to wiggle, they're light, are cushioned with medical-grade shock-absorbing material and have an arch support to help redistribute pressure.'
I bet they'd still look like housebricks on my feet, though.
until you try them on you have no idea what the fuss is about. You may think they dont look a lot different to a 25 quid pair of new look heels but but but I have (or had till recently grr) a pair of 4 inch choos black with lovely red ribbon stitching and they were gorgeous to wear. For comfy feet the 350 was worth it.
What's all this with women & shoes? Ms carrust was walking past a shoe shop & she said her heart skipped a beat when she saw a particular pair. She started to describe them to me, but I saw a wall that had just been painted, so I want & watched that instead. Now if it was a guitar or a record shop that would be different...wouldn't it ?
No Jimmy Choo for me! I would feel dreadful spending that kind of money on a pair of shoes that would end up hurting my poor 'lil feet! I'm not a high heel kinda girl, well not very high anyway. Prefer shoes that are actually comfortable, nicely designed and good for my feet. After all we spend most of our lives on our feet, so they need a little love and respect!!! I have always thought that very few women walk with grace and style in very high stiletto heels. Most end up just tottering, wobbling and sticking their bums out to keep their balance (especially when they've had a drink or two!)! Not a good look!!! LOL :o)
