If you go could back and do something that you did as a kid what would it be? The park, the beach anything! The one thing that kids get to do that that you can't do once you're an adult! What games would you play and what sweets would you get from the corner shop ?

Hello Julie, you ok ?

I would build a go cart out of a plank of wood and pram wheels with a bit of string to steer it by,I would then have a game of up the wall, where you toss coins at a wall and the nearest one keeps the money, then a game of conkers, then off to the shop for a Jamboree bag, pink shrimps, flying saucers, fruit salads, cola cubes, coloured sherbert, be sick then have a cider lolly, goodnight I am worn out now off to beddy byes xxx

Climbed in the windmill (which is now locked), eaten soggy cheese and tomato sandwiches on Walton beach, fished for carp in the marl pits, swung and dropped 20 feet.

I would just like to be a child again. No responsibilities. I loved every minute of it
ummmm you are so right, childhood for most kids is luckily a great time,

RoaldoM, great things weren't they, "bogeys" great name, I made one once with little wheels that had ball bearings in,god that thing made a noise, also putting lolly sticks by the brake blocks on your bike so it hit the spokes and made a noise, If only we could go back.
and we had proper snow! and hardly any cars!

the only one i could think of was wheh i arrived at the childrens home when i was six, there were six beds in there for the under tens, all the little girls had teddies on their beds, i didnt possess a teddy, but the lady in charge went and boufgt some brown wool the very next day, within 2 weeks she had knitted me a beautiful brown bear with a red ribbon round its neck, i loved that bear it was special to me, i wish i still had it now. :0 )
Oh devilwoman, that is very touching, wish I could give you a cuddle, were you happy though as a kiddie ? xx
It all brings tears to the eyes.
Awww devilwoman, that's lovely!

I'd love to have the childish excitement back of things like Christmas, going to bed on Christmas night and waking up to a stocking and presents.

Also the excitement of things like snow and fireworks. We used to go and watch the fireworks sitting on the hill by the river for the Shrewsbury Flower Show. They used to set cannons off too.

Sweets would have to be coloured grainy sherbert :)

Games wise, either sledging down a hill or playing rounders and the like, especially up Cardingmill Valley.

Hopefully Spurslady will know what I mean :)
i'd love a go on the swings. like ray i would also build a go kart (with the help of big bro). i would play out in really inappropriate places like the alley way round the back of the legion & not give a thought for safety.
i would love to get back the open air baths in new brighton.
sweets would be tuti-fruities & beefy monster munch.
i would also make a den out of any old bits of c**p found in the street!
lying on my side at the top of what seemed a really huge hill and rolling down!!climbing trees..and falling out of them!!!as i'd never REALLY hurt myself!!
And running really fast!!
i liked milkybars before they changed them, rosey apples, pinapple cubes,

going to the beach in Anglesey on a family holiday and making cars you could sit in in the sand
must have been some happy times too i supose. just seems hard to remember them. i remember climbing trees and playing football aged around ten or eleven and the best time was when i left that dump at sixteen. thats a good memory, lol
Devilwoman....I'm not a emotional person but that gave me goosebumps.....

I had a great childhood (although some beg to differ) I was bought up in a pub, a very Irish pub and I was loved by lot's of people. I had what I would call a very odd life compared to my friends but it was great and I wouldn't change a thing.
ummm, sounds good to me, but people think i'm boring cos i dont drink, well not never never, just special occasions.
