I'll keep this as short as poss!! Split with boyf in may after 7 years together. Basically we were virtually living separate lives and he wanted the 'single' life. things were not great at all for the last year we were together.

However, i moved to london (50 miles from home) and got new job and really enjoy my life. He bought a house and is happy too. The thing is we get on so great now that it's unbelievable!

For example, whereas before he was always out with his mates on a weekend (and didnt want me to go with him) now he will happily spend all night standing in the pub with me - much to the disgust of a girl he has been briefly seeing! He is now considerate and just generally a lot nicer to me.

I guess what im asking is - do you think if we got back together that it would go back to how it was before? or could it be that we have both learnt lessons and maybe he is my soulmate after all?

I know you cant really answer but maybe you have been in a similar situation?

Thanks! :-)

cakey i've been in exactly the same situation, we were with each other for 5 years, we never went out together, for the last year or so. i have moved to london since (which we talked about doing together) but never happened, we get on so much better now, we talk all the time (we do have a son together albeit we were very young) i have no feelings for her like that, although i wish things could have been different at the time, shes like a sister to me now, i think he sees u as a friend, which you are having a history like you do. it'll never be like it was before so dont risk u'r friendship by trying, u have a new life in the heart and soul of britain, so make the most of it!!
Hello angel, haven't seen your name for ages, it can work,it worked for me, we were going out for 5 years split up for a year got back together, within 3 months we were married, and have been for 35 years,so if you feel like giving it another go, do it,good luck, and come on here more often as well, Ray xxx
Sounds like you just needed a bit of a trial separation really...

Hi Ray, thanks for your reply. I am tempted to give it another go as i do feel he has changed a lot and i also feel that if it didnt work i would be much stronger about not letting it carry on for so long when it is wrong. Only problem is that i now live 80 miles from him and i dont want to move back there!!

NH - I think you may be right.
has he mentioned getting back with you?
Hi angel, The break sometimes does wonders,if you give it another go and it doesn't work,at least you have tried,if you don't try again you may regret in a few years, you know "what if" don't have what ifs in your life, good luck angel xx

OZ - yes we had a chat a couple of weeks ago. he was worried that he was holding me back before and now i have moved to london, he doesnt want to take that away from me.

if your lucky enough to have found what they call love then lucky you!!

The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.
