I have thick brown shoulder length hair and would like a french pleat for a friends wedding. Any useful hints or tips as my arms are getting sore and Im running out of grips.....

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.i would say your best bet is to book into the hairdresserrs and get it done there! They will have the setting products etc there as well.
However if not, what you can try is sectioning the hair so you would make a tight pony tail out of the hair on lower half of the back of your head , then you can pull back the top and the sides and pleat that and hide the pony tail within he pleat. This takes a lot ofthe weight out ofthe bottom and makes a smoother back.
comloulou, go to the hairdressers. Then there is no chance of it all falling apart on you as the day goes on. If my experience is anything to go by, it will still be in place with 100 pins when you wake up the next day! If you do it yourself I think it will work easier on day-old hair rather than newly washed.
