You are never too old to have a birthday party ! It's her special day - the anniversary of the day she was born , so of course she should celebrate it. How she does so is a matter of personal taste. It really depends what she would like herself ie a big fuss made or a quiet simple affair. If she wants to splash her cash , she could have hire a pink limo - the kind which caters for young girls - and tour about town in style You can also book girlie parties where they do your hair , make up , have chocolate fountains etc. Or , if keeping it simple and low cost , she could have her birthday at the ten pin bowling or even a pyjama party at home - always good. Girlie night in with a chick flick , pizza , choccy goodies etc. If you are menaing is she too old for the traditional cake , jelly and ice cream kind of birthday then I would say that at 14 she may be but as I say , it is a matter of personal taste. What is most important is what makes your friend happy. That's the same day of my son's birthday. Hope she has a good birthday x

thanks, enigma i dont suppose you know of any good sites where we can find out more about the whole choccy fountain and make up do's?
I think Thornton's do choccy fountain hire.
You can buy choc fountains from argos .. choc strawberries ..yummy :o)
Hi missyR. You can indeed buy choccy fountains from Argos - from either 29.99 or 49.99. (Page 712 , item 1 29.99, cat no : 420/0181 & item2 , 49.99 , cat no : 422/6804 & page 1404 , 49.99 , cat no : 260/3474) If you go to the Argos web page you can see for yourself what they look like. These are mini chocolate fountains - a full size one would set you back quite a bit. The cheapest I found online was 199 with the marshmallows too. If you look in the classified section of your local paper though you would probably get a cheaper quote.

With regards to the make up parties , I see this being advertised locally quite a lot both in the classifieds of my local paper and through leaflets which come through my door , which proves that there is obviously a demand for this service. It is worth also checking your yellow pages/local directory. Look under Party Planners and I am sure that you will find some contacts. If they do not specialise in what you are looking for , then tell them what you want and i'm sure that they will point you in the right direction of someone who can provide that service. The sites I found online tend to cater for their own area so it really depends where you live. Do a google search on make up parties and see if any of them operate in your area. I would say that your best bet and cheapest option is definitely the yellow pages and classifieds in your local paper though.

Whatever you decide to do , I hope that you all have a really good night. Here's the link for the full sized chocolate fountain :
