I regularly use the treadmill at my gym. Obviously the energy I expend joggin for say 3km on the treadmill is less than I would expend if I were running on the road because I am not actually moving my body. Assuming I weigh 9.5 stones, what angle would I have to raise the treadmill to to be using energy at the same rate as if I were running on the road?

Having done a fair bit of running on a treadmill myself, I found the same problem. I was informed that raising the treadmill by as little as 1 degree would help greatly. It does!!! You can then raise and lower as you run. Keep it up.(The running, that is)
