Wheezing
7 Answers
Whenever I wake up in the morning, I always find that I'm wheezing quite badly. Whenever I lie in bed before I go to sleep, I also start to wheeze after about 10mins. I'm not prone to hayfever or have never been allergic to anything, have always had a carpet in my room etc etc.The wheezing tends to last till around midday and then gradually wears off. Sometimes I find that it impedes my breathing to the extent that I really have to concentrate on getting enough air into my lungs. What could be causing this? Will it go away?Oh, and I've only been renting this room for the past few months, and that's when it all started.

Have you seen your GP to see if there is any underlying cause for it?

Just a thought but perhaps it could be Asthma. Asthma can flare up at any age and it is usually triggered by something such as an allergy or being exposed to an irritant such as pollen , house dust etc. The symptoms are wheezing , shortness of breath and sometimes tightness in the chest. This problem is usually aggravated at night but you can feel like this in the morning too. Do you find that you are coughing a lot too ? You really should make an appointment with your doctor to establish the cause of your wheezing. I have mild asthma and only developed it when I was eighteen so it is worth checking out with your doctor.
I think your prblem could be dust mites. Prehaps in your bedding and be. I alwas make sure I hoover my mattress when I change the bottom sheet, you will be surprised at all the dust it picks up. Also it could be your pillows or duvet . Please dont think I am being rude when I mention dust mites but they do love a nice warm bed with all the skin that we shed. Brenda
