I received a letter from my local Council today, and I quote ...

... ''I acknowledge receipt of your undated letter dated 11th Decemer 2006'' ...

Is it me, or are there a bunch of numptys working for the Government?

There were numpties working at the Council years ago. My surname at that time was Hadley and there was a tv series called Hadleigh and I was forever getting my surname spelt wrongly because of the tv program. I had to talk to the council on the phone one day and in giving my surname said "its Hadley, with an e and not an eigh".........when their reply arrived by post it was addressed to "Miss Hadley-Withane"

I got a council tax letter last year saying

" According to our records you have underpaid by 0.00p and therefore your account is now in arrears by 0.00p.Could you please contact us to arrange payment of 0.00p,either by cheque or credit card."

I swear it's true.
and is there any surprise in this????? Our council is notorious, as are most, for being run by numptys!
I received an E-mail from the firearms dept. of Cleveland Police saying "We do not take verbal messages over the telephone"
