Is it a problem joining the police force with tattoos? I have a large tattoo on my leg.

Only if your tattoo is offensive to a particular race, religion or culture etc. Try http://www.policecouldyou.co.uk for more information
I would imagine a.c.a.b. might be a problem!
as far as i know as long as the tattoo isn't too offensive and is in a plce where it can be hidden. so arms, neck and face would definatley be out of the question. hope that helps

Having it on your leg shouldn't be a problem (due to trousers - never seen a copper in shorts on duty) but as mentioned before it can't be openly racist, offensive or sexist - and not necessarily openly...it could just be that someone might take offence to it. But you will have to include a photo and description of it in your application form as I've just gone through the whole Police application.
