I posted an answer and mentioned one member as a he....it turned out that he was a she, and she took offence sufficiently to raise a new post asking about whether ABers assumed a posters name was masculine or feminine. I am a new member and would like to know what names are male or female. It would be nice to have a profile or thave he ability to add a suffix to a name like zimzam(F) so anyone replying to me would know I was female - other ABers having more a type of name that could be classified as either male or female should put any newbie wise and not take offence if we consider someone's name as masculine or feminine because of their name and get itheir sex wrong, big time. Now crete, you chastised me because I referred to you as "he" and you said you were a female. I asked 5 friends to tell me whether they felt your name was masculine or femine and 4 said you were a bloke....that is one example as to how a new member finds some names.
To save me further embarrassment or ridicule will you all please post what sex you are!

zimzam i did not take offence at your assumption re my gender i just thought how interesting it is that we make assumptions and that is why i posted a question about the subject sometimes i think it is quite amusing when we think we are talking to a male and it turns out to be a female. but leading on from your question does anyone have evidence re whiffeys gender i often have discussions with them and have no idea their gender but believe they play the game very well to keep us all guessing. lol

I am a very unrulie female but thats obvious. I wouldnt worry about getting it wrong sometimes though, i have and if you don't want someone to know your sex then you choose a user name accordingly or vice versa. Sometimes its obvious and sometimes its not. I see the name zimzam and think its male, see, its an easy mistake to make. :-) now i know your a girl too!
