My doctor has suggested an angiogram ...not absolutely neccesary but he says it would lead to a better diagnosis and that he is not saying this lightly. How risky are they?

for a medical encyclopedia web-page about arteriograms. (NB These are the same as angiograms). Once there, there are various headings you can click on for further information, including one on the risks. I hope it works out successfully for you, if you do go ahead.

I had an angiogram without painkiller or sedative and it was quite okay. Turned out to prove only that treatment would not help, but I do not regret having it.
