I know this may sound like a contradiction, but have you tried a shampoo/conditioner for dry hair? Very often the scalp over produces oil to compensate for very dry hair - sometimes caused by colouring it. I suffered from this, switched my conditioner, and it's a lot better. I only have to wash my hair every other day now.
By the way - don't use Head & Shoulders - it's better than paintstripper!

yes i have used that a couple of times before when i'm stuck with my mums shampoo! not only that i got bought some really nice pantenne for brunettes at christmas but by the next day my hair just looks really greasy again, i suffer from oily skin aswell which doesnt help, do you know any good products for that?!
I use Garnier Fructis, all natural products - they do various ones including one for greasy and dyed hair. Good luck
if you can splash out a bit, then Aveda or Paul Mitchell products are fantastically good.

Any good hair salon will stock either of them plus they'll help you choose the right thing for you.

My friend who is a hairdresser shudders at the mention of Head and Shoulders and I don't suggest you use it. Get a good conditioner for greasy hair and leave it on for at least 5 minutes and you will get more success than you ever will with head and Shoulders.
NOT conditioning my hair at all helps with the greasyness. If I have to use it I only put it on the ends and avoid my scalp.
just a tip - put shampoo directly onto your scalp - on DRY hair.
rub it in, and only then wet it into a lather.

the water dilutes the shampoos grease cutting properties, if you put it onto wet hair

i find my hair 'lasts' longer.
Also, Pantenne and similar hair products contain silicons which can build up and make hair look lank - and always make sure you rinse out really well (whichever shampoo/conditioner you use). I use Keratase, pricey but it's good and it's last ages as you only need a smidgen.
I also suffer from greasy locks, i have long dark brown coloured hair, so i always use TIGI Honey & Oatmeal shampoo and the conditioner. It nourishes coloured hair "real food for hair". (smells fantastic too!!!) Only apply conditioner to the ends, reduce the shower tempreture on final rinse to close the pores on your scalp. Not cheap, my hairdresser sells it to me at cost and i always buy the 1 litre size with pumps for best value and believe me a little goes a long way. I would avoid the pantene, fructis types as they do contain silicone which makes your hair limp but also coates the hair shaft meaning the colour doesn't penetrate as good. x
