pounding in ear

ive had this strange feeling in my ear for about a week,its like i hear a heart beat in my ear,but ive got up this morning and i feel very faint and the sounds there as well anyone had this thankyou

About 10 years ago I had a similar feeling. One night in bed I remembered my mother mentioned a smiliar feeling before she had her stroke - naturally I had myself dead and buried! In my mother's case the sound was her blood trying hard to push through a blockage in her veins. We have a family history of heart disease (a cousin died at 32) so I had it checked out with my GP - he took it seriously and sent me to a cardiologist who in turn sent me for an ultrasound. What was happening with me was my veins were crossed, but no blockages. Not one for scaremongering but if you have a family history I reckon its no harm getting checked. Could be an infection like pa__ul says so either way a visit to the doctor will settle it for you.

thankyou to you both,theres no family history of heart disease, im going to the docs tomoz cant go on like this its so strange to explain,one min im ok the next the sounds there again,the dizzyness isnt as bad now,but my god i dont feel myself cheers again for your help

just thought id let you know ive just got back from the doctors,ive got high blood pressure again hes given me some medication,if im no different by next week ive got to go back.

Hi there! I have the same problem and it's driving me CRAZY! I have had it for a couple of months but only went to the doctors yesterday - blood pressure is perfect. I am seeing a specialist on Friday. I will let you know how I go!

its horride isnt it,touch wood ive not had it for nearly a week bet i get it again now ive said that.the med must be working you take care xx

the medication is for my high blood pressure,you said yours is alright so they wont give it to you
