I passed my driving test!!!
25 Answers
I know this isn't a question, but I'm just so excited! After 10 years of being terrified of the prospect of driving, I have passed (2nd attempt).
I've been so down as I've been unable to find a decent job (I'm a nursery nurse), but now I can finally fulfill my ambition to be a nanny! Yippee (jumps in the air, and does a big star jump). I can also tell Mr Scooby To Be to GET OUT AND walk the next time he moans at me in the car!!
So happy

Thats great but make sure you get out there and start driving!
The worse thing I did was not buy a car straight after I passed.
I passed about 7 years ago and have never driven since!!! Now not having enough money or some other excuse and when I got back to it I will have to learn all over again.
So well done but get out there ;-)

congratulations scooby and good luck with the nannying :)
genius is right about driving straight away. I took 7 tests before i passed (shurrup everyone it was nerves lol) I drove for a couple of years then slowly stopped driving so much until I completely stopped. I havent driven for nearly 8 years now and to be honest wouldnt dare get back behind the wheel :(

Thanks. Luckily my lovely fiance (who's sick of ferrying me around and visiting me in hospital every time I come off my scooter in winter) bought me a little car for my birthday in Oct, and I took my test in that. I realised very quickly that the thing that had been holding me back was just a serious fear in other people's cars! As soon as I got behind the wheel of my own car, my driving improved in leaps and bounds.
I'm going to attempt to go to the supermarket this afternoon!

So did I & it opened up a whole new world for me!
I really didn't want to type this, but I will as it may be an inspiration to others:
My sister had a brain tumour removed at 48 & her first wish after coming out of hospital & getting better, was to have driving lessons. She did so & passed her test just before her 50th birthday.
She had a few years of happy motoring until Parkinsons disease took its hold on her - but she looks back at the wonderful things she was able to see & enjoy when driving out & about.
