Does it really matter?

Wasnt sure where to post this but...............what the heck, i have noticed, (and it really gets me) that in reply to some of mine, and lots of other peoples posts, that some people (nameless but you only have to search to find out who) reply with comments such as 'Does it matter?' or 'Do we Care' or 'Why are you asking this question?' Well.............. the question is obviously being asked for a reason, and somebody obviously cares, its nobodies business WHY!!!! This is a Q&A forum, and therefore everyone is entitled to ask whatever they want however boring or inane to other people. Now i am sure in the past i may have replied with a touch of the old sarcasm myself, but usually only in keeping with the question?...What does everyone else think?!

Everyone is entitled to answer as they see fit though too so you cannot restrict it to helpful or interesting responses!

I know what you mean curlyperm, I imagine most of us have put on these silly questions and I dare say most have given sarcy replies too.

I think we just have to accept that there are a lot of people with a chip on their shoulder who like nothing better than to have a dig and insult other people for the fun of it!!

I don't enjoy insulting people but now and again I like to speak up when certain people insult others just for the sheer fun of it!!

I was really pleased i found this forum but it seems to me that 50% of what on here is useless comments by idiots who find it funny to make idiotic comments or questions. I saw somewhere recently a question about farting in the bath. What a sado.

Humour or gently chiding a poster is one thing and rudeness is another matter. Some posters make the most unappropriate inane questions and they can expect the result that I often see, but I don't go with posters who are serious getting shot down in flames and open to riducule. Besides often a thread is hijacked with jokes between some members and their interaction ruins a thread. Johnny37 I so agree with you.

I know exactly what you mean, and ive noticed there is one particular user on here that constantly answer questions with uncalled for answers. It just gets to me because people come on here to get answers not to be judged!
This tends to happen alot when people ask questions regarding piercings and tattoos - which they are wanting an answer about, not peoples opinions that they are an idiot!!

What alot of ABers, myself included, are annoyed about is the abuse (ooooo!) of this particular category. We all seem capable of acknowledging that it's a Body And Soul related section, yet incapable of sticking to that rule.

In all honesty can you see how relevant the joke is several posts down (no offence to the poster), or the one about bogeys (couldn't care less if he's offended!!) is to the category?

I've been a member of AB for a while now and it genuinely hurts to see how downhill the site and in particular this category has gone lately.

And before anyone says anything, I'm not against chatting in a thread, hell I do enough of it myself. However what I do object to is the posts made just for the hell of it, or for what folks believe is 'funny'. Primarily this site is called a Q&A forum for a reason.

Hey Naz....................no intention of making myself AB police or any other police for that matter !!! i was just pointing out that if someone asks a question however stupid we might think it is.......................... there is probably a need for that person to want to know. I'm not trying to be judge and jury, but sometimes someone might post 'Are Girls Aloud splitting up?' and someone will put 'Who Cares!!!' well, that could be a youngster who genuinly wants to know, and may not always 'get' our flippant comments? anyway, it was only an observation : )

Well thank you alenka! its just that we are all into different things, i mean i asked a question the other day as to whether Richard Arnold (GMTV) was gay, no ulterior motives just genuinely always wondered, but got the usua; why? what does it matter?? etc.... IT DOESNT i just wanted to know...............end of?

Been travelling up to London today and have just plugged into the hotel wi fi thingy and checking out whats going on.

I agree with you (hey no change there I think we were separated at birth!!). Sometimes you think oh thats a good questions or you're just interested to know something and someone piddles on your bonfire. No need really. I'd prefer a sarcy answer to no answer at all.


Really are Girls Aloud splitting up I hope so the ginger one and the blonde one are really scarey. And as you know Richard Arnold is a massive bender!!!!!!!!

Yes I'm in Soho the red light outside my window is blinding!!!!!!!!!!! Mr Athley has gone to the bar to tout for a bit of business whilst I'm cruising online - unfortunately there is a wedding fair on here today so I think that limits the punters - although we did see a bit of competition earlier in the lounge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and there was a free chocolate fountain - eeeeeeewwww I can't imagine what people dip in those!
