I was there 2 weeks ago as part of a two month thai trip... yep, Phuket pretty tacky... but as you say... fun!!! I was in Kata... couldn't handle Patong...

I haven't been to Koh Samui. It was a toss up between that and Phi Phi and we picked Phi Phi.

We got stranded on little phi phi overnight because of a storm. That was an interesting night
