Hello! Unit 3 Question 32. Whether client is able to read labels on bottles. Can client open container. Does client understand what their medication is for. Does client understand any special instructions. Does client understand the dose to be taken. is the client aware of the need to check for any possible side effects of their medication.
Unit 3 Question 33. 1,The client will need a lockable cabinet in which to store their medication.
2. The client must have a key to the cabinet.
3. The client must give their written consent stating that they are undertaking to self administer their own drugs.
Unit 3 Question 34 When a client is responsible for taking his/her own medicines, an administration record needs to be kept by the home staff. If the home orders and receives the medicines for the client, a record of medicines received into the home should be kept as for other clients' medicines and a record of the medicines transferred to the client including date of transfer be kept.
Unit 3 Question 35. The client will be risk assessed to self medicate. this will be recorded in the clients care plan and reassessed on a regular basis to ensure that the client is not at risk.
