Dianette "pill" 7 day break

I am using the pill for my acne, but it is a form of contraceptive aswel and I do use it for that too. I finished the last pack on Monday, but haven't started my next period yet (it's Friday). Is this normal? I've read that it can be upto 4 days somtetimes until you have your period, and also you can even totally miss a period when you first start using the medication, (so should only worry if you miss two in a row). I have only been using it for two months, so just want to put my mind at rest really. Thanks

Hi there, I started on Dianette in September and on first first break I finished the pack on a Friday and didn't come on until the Wednesday so just wait, it'll happen I'm sure. Just remember to start taking them again on the right day even if your period hasn't stopped.

Hi Bethan, Dianette is often used for women suffering with acne because they have PCOS, so in which case it wouldnt be unlikely at all that you would miss a period. It is really, really, important that you dont get pregnant whilst on dianette though. I recently took my break and didnt come on for 10 days, Im sure you can imagine the little panic I went through lol

I wouldn't worry. I too use Dianette - I will take my first pill of my 'new' pack tonight (Saturday) and I only started my period yesterday. Been like that for a few months now.
