Some family of mine had a wedding in a converted barn which had been thingyed so any weddings done there were official, that was really nice cos the wedding was in one part of the barn and then the sit-down meal and reception was in another part.

hmm, i see, my friend has some horses and we go to her barn every year for New years, i may make some enquiries about that. Ta, i was thinking mabe a castle but not sure if the "wedding leglisation" is allowed there or not?

Registry offices seem so cold and uninviting.
Have a look at this link, loads of hotels etc are now able to hold wedding ceremonies, Good luck, Ray

Just to give you another idea Lauren, this gorgeous castle near me is very popular for civil weddings, but there are many other similar romantic venues like this. The only stipulation is they must be licensed.

OOH a castle would be lovely...all fairytale and princessy!
Not all registry offices are 'cold and uninviting' Lauren ~ quite a few are very pleasant places to get married in :o)
Can you not do it in a Reform synagogue?
