Why do women use considerably more than men?

Err...without sounding like I'm stating the obvious - which I am - women use toilet paper "front and back"....That's twice the amount a guy would use, if I'm not mistaken!

I may have a reason though. I had this thread last year, asking if women really are fusspots when it comes to public lavs.
I am a clean girly but cannot understand why many girls put loo paper over the seat before sitting down (or else they 'hover')
Obviously I would not use a DIRTY loo but really it's a bit OTT to cover the seat isn't it?
Anyway Nether, that's maybe where some of the paper goes?

My hubby uses loads more than me. When he used to work 3 shifts, i could really see a difference in what was being used. He is always blowing his nose on it too and uses loads for that!

A friend of mine who does a lot of camping reckons you can avoid using toilet paper altogether by wiping the surrounding area with a dab of vaseline, the jobby then just slips out and there's no need to clean up afterwards. Never tested the theory but I've been camping with him and he swears by it.....

I know a couple of men who use an enormous amount of t.p. Gawd knows what they use it for! (hmmm). Women might use more because of periods and we always use it after weeing and I'm not sure if men bother for that.
