Oh yes .... but don't wish your life away.
yes... in my experience (3 sprogs) as soon as they start walking (for their independence), and then talking properly, you can talk to them and carve out some quality time for yourself and your partner (s) (!). When kids are babies and a little bit helpless, they are cute as hell but so dependent u can feel ur own life is history. Bu then when they become little people and u can rationalise u get ur life back ... Convinced ???
Yes but your normally to knacked too enjoy it !
It's life, Jim but not as you know it. Totally different, but for everything you have to give up there's something even more fun to take its place. Sometimes it's a bit of a trudge - but notice the little things, they'll be gone soon enough and even tiny changes are enjoyable in their own way. Sounds a bit sad, but I've kept a diary since my treasure was a week old - and it's been good fun to look back on, and kept me going when things were a bit tough.
I prefer to think of it as life with adults - my two elder girls are 28 and 27 and we see them a lot - it's great to have the bond with mature adults, who still need you for advice and help occasionally - I'd never want any kind of life 'after' them, but I know what you mean. Being a grandparent is fabulous - all the fun, none of the grief!
