Would you or have you ever dated outside of your own race?

Just interested to get peoples opinions on this. I grew in Birmingham and never really considered this an issue as I was always used to being around so many different types of people. I know a lot of people are uncomfortable with the idea of dating someone from a different ethnic background. What are your thoughts?

I don't think joshie was being racist at all. He voiced his opinion and did so without any derogatory comments.
Mr Pippa has ben called a racist before, simply because he said he was never interested in dating a black or Asian woman! he has worked with both, and gets on well with them too ~ and like joshie is never derogatory.
To answer the Q, yes I would have considered it and I did. About 20 odd years ago I was asked out by a black friend ~ to be honest the main reason I said no was because my dad would have gone bananas..he didn't raise me to be racist, but has the view that we shouldn't be 'mixing' in that way..the guy used to come round our house a lot and dad was always friendly & pleasant to him ~ but dating him would have been another issue!
I was young and cared about what my dad thought in those days. If I was single now I wouldn't hesitate, and I wouldn't care who my kids dated either ~ as long as they are 'decent' folk their ethnic background wouldn't matter.

Longterm relationships include a German and a Frenchman. If youre talking about skin colour then I have no qualms about that either. Ive kissed an English-African who was very sexy, but the timing was just bad I guess. Also seriously contemplated dating a Malaysian guy but again, timing wasnt right.
I wouldnt ever judge somebody from the outside, just as I wouldnt want to be judged on having blonde hair and being a woman!
