My 4 year old son has had two seizures 7 months apart. I have looked at various website but am know closer to knowing if he is likely to have more frequent seizures in the future. Does anyone have any experience in this area? They were full seizures, collapsing to the floor and jerking for 10-20 seconds.

I honestly don`t think it`s a question that can be answered. My daughter was 9 months old when she took her first one. She is 30 years old now and still has them. She is one of the few that medication doesn`t control.
Hi GuavaHalf. I work with adults who have Epilepsy. They are all on medication to try to control their seizures. Unfortunately there are factors which can make it more likely for seizures to occur. These factors can include heat, light, stress, illness, excitement etc. Some people believe that diet can affect the likelihood of a seizure occurring. Your GP may be able to give you more information or put you in touch with other parents who are in your situation. Good luck.x
Have taken your son to a Doctor?? Sounds like Grand Mal to me although i'm no Doctor. I would take him in for tests on Epilepsy and if positive then start treatment to hopefully prevent any future seizures although there is no guarantee.
Hi,
My Son started to suffer from seizures when he was 11months old after receiving the triple vaccine.
your Son really ought to be seen by a Consultant at the hospital. It is hard to say whether he will go on taking them. My Son was on medication until he was 11 years old. After that, he outgrew them and never had another one since. Reason he took them was always when he was running a high temperature, usually caused by some sort of infection. Some children cannot fight infection then run a high temperature. I agree with the others. Take him to see your GP and have then run tests.
Hope all goes well with the results.

Yes he's seen a doctor!! We spent most of yesterday in A&E. But they are very evasive when you ask them questions before he's had all the tests.
