I was looking after my friends son last week and I made him some dinner. He took a slice of toast and dunked it into his blackcurrent squash and ate it like it was such a normal thing. I think the only slightly weird thing I do is mix marmite with baked beans (I think its perfectly normal but the other half doesn't). Just wondered whether anyone else did anything strange, mixing foods/drinks etc.?
I don't think i do anything that is really that strange but my mum dips everything into her tea! Especially cheese sandwhiches & donuts! But she really will dip anything in it, any sandwhich etc..
Although, i do like to dip a cheese sandwhich or toast in my tea aswell but that's all!
I've always dipped my toast into my tea and the rest of my family thought I was mad...now I can tell them that I am not alone, there are lots of us out there!
I had a friend once who used to bite both ends off a Kitkat and then use it like a straw to suck up tea/coffee (just once) and then eat it.
I'm hungry now! All those look lovely.
But did anyone see Cilla Black on Room 101 where she rubbed an Oxo cube on a quartered orange and ate it? She got Paul Merton eating it too! She said it started when she was a latchkey kid and used to come home and look for anything to eat.
Marmite on toast under cheese or scrambled egg. My other half won't eat baked beans without brown sauce in them.
Salad Cream instead of gravy on my roast. Grew out of that once I started getting the squits from it but still have a scrape of it with roast meat sarnies.
I also put vinegar in my baked beans. Not sure why, just gives them a bit more oomph.
CheekyChops has just reminded me that when I eat Kit Kats I take one stick at a time, bite the chocolate off both ends, then bite all the chocolate off each side, then eat the rest.
I also do something similar when eating bourbon biscuits!
And when I eat Twiglets I have to suck off all the marmitey coating before I eat the crunchy stick.
I sometimes do that Champagne except when I'm totally munchied, really not got the time to hang about then! I always put tomato sauce on my scrambled eggs or loads of grated cheese just before it comes off the heat and goes all sticky and goey and nice, plays havoc with the bottom of the pan though. I don' t like the idea of tea and toast but I love dipping sarnies in soup or pot noodles.
Oh god Champagne, I thought I was the only one that did that with KitKats! My sister used to think I was really disgusting - I just like to make my treats last!
