i personally endeavour to be as gently as possible when pointing out 'truths', but sometimes the truth can hurt anyway, so even that can be classed as 'brutal',
how about you beryllium? care to offer your opinion?

I would lie, yes Beryl if it meant that person wouldnt go away feeling hurt. That might be seen as wrong by some but i couldnt stand the thought that i had upset them. I would rather tell i little white lie than have that on my conscience.
I take we we are talking about more superficial things such as" does my bum look big in this" type of thing ?? Of course there are some things that need the truth and if i really really had to then it would be as gently honest as i could make it..

I like to think I am being gently honest with people, ie- sugarcoating and indirectly telling the truth, but i've been told by someone that I can be a little 'blunt' at times ... so I suppose it depends how irritable/impatient I'm feeling on the day. Overall though, I'd rather say nothing at all if its a sensitive issue.
I think the truth serves right by people.
An old colleague of mine had bad B.O. She was being talked about behind her back and I don't like that sort of thing. I talked to her. Gently honest in this case lol..... and all was well.
I am frank with mr B, but that's usually when there's an argument going on *cringe*
The 'does my bum look big in this?' q..... Yep, I'd be either brutal... ie: on the floor rolling around in laughter... so that would be a yes then..... or an honest no and you look fantastic. Friends need the truth too!!! and guys aint the best to ask that q to now are they?

we had a guy like that at aplace I used to work at, lovely but very smelly to this day we refer to him as Smelly *insert name*. We just put deodorant in the staff rooms and it sort of sorted it out, he just worked really hard and looking back on it, it wasnt the worse thing in the world. We did have a customer who was a drunk (it was a pub) and he stank to high heaven, in the end I told him to "get a biath or get out for good".... so i think I am capable of both.
