I suppose it may be one option, might be hormonal but not necessarily the menopause, have a look at this:

You don't say how old your Mum is but the menopause can throw up all sorts of different things. Mood swings being one of them .Women go through it at different ages and don' t all have the symptoms ..some sail through it ....others don't ...so you can't generalise. It may not be the menopause . The two periods every month is not normal . ....she should see her doctor. As soon as possible .
Bein a mum myself, and sufferin with PMT, i can assure you she doesnt hate you, but hormones are a very powerful.Sometimes you really cant help what they make you do or say.How old are you? are you at pubety yet? Maybe you ll be as hard to understand too at times.I mean it in the nicest possible way. But try to be understanding.x
Hello i agree with Dot but if your mam is going very red in the face and neck then accompanied by sweating she should pop along to see her GP i started my menopause at the age of 40 and you do get mood swings but you must not worry your mam will not hate you it is something us girls eventually go through i am sure everything will be ok lots of love megan07

thanks guys my mum is 49 and im 22 so yes i have started puberty. x
i used to be regular as clockwork every 28 days. Now i'm down to under 25 sometimes 23 days(i'm 42) I read somewhere that more than one period a month or if they come closer than 19 or 21 days this is not normal. Has your mum been to the Gyno Dr? I think she should.
